Where the Magic Happens

Have you seen Girls? Have you heard of Girls? Do you have HBO?

I've been obsessed with the show Girls since it's pilot episode aired on HBO last year. I love it. It's my Sex and the City replacement but smarter and younger with interesting fashion and life choices. It's like what The Carrie Diaries should be.

So one of the characters is a writer and she wants to write for a website. Her boss is telling her what they would like to see from her and refers to an illustration on the wall. I re-created this on my own. :)

It basically is telling you to get out of your comfort zone because that's where the magic happens! "The Magic" is something that a creative mind hungers for. Sometimes I find it and sometimes I don't.

I never wear my bangs out of pinned back, I never wear brown eye liner, but today I am. I hope you enjoy this different look! It makes me feel like I found a little bit of magic in my cosmetic bag. :) That's never a bad thing!

I used  light and medium brown eye shadows and a brown eye liner pencil to create this look.

I braided my bangs and pinned them back, hiding the bobby pins with

Who needs comfort zones anyway?

P.S. If you haven't seen girls, please get with the program!

Turn Your Rainy Day Blues to Rainy Day Pink!

Let's be honest, we all know rain is necessary to our survival and the entire ecosystem. The only problem is it makes my hair do stupid things. It makes my eyelids heavy and I don't feel like fixing up. It makes me want to dress sloppy  comfy and skip the heels.

Today I had the rainy day blues. I overcame my rainy day blues and now I'm rainy day PINK! Today I'm wearing a basic black dress, I usually pair it with heels and a fun belt. Today I added a pink belt to my dress and a fab animal print scarf with that same hot pink in it! I threw on some riding boots and did a light makeup application. It is very important that said application includes pink lipstick. Today I went for my "Strawberry Shortcake" Lip Butter from Revlon because it feels like... You guessed it... Buttah! I just threw my hair up in a bun and marched out the door with a smile!

We can't forget the outerwear, considering the rain! I have this camel colored trench and a zebra print umbrella for keeping dry!

12 Awesome Online Plus Size Fashion Finds Under $20 | AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW

Everyone always asks how I get great deals. I find some of the best deals at Target in the clearance. I know not everyone has a Target and I understand that sometimes you don't have time to go shopping. I put together a few things that are ONLINE in the Target plus size clearance right now. There are some things on their website that I have bought but they are more expensive online than they were in my store so I left them out. So... Here are 12 things ANYONE can get RIGHT NOW in the Target clearance ONLINE!

Don't act like I never told ya! ;)

For the Love of Forever 21 +

I frequent the Forever 21 + section in my local store but there are always pieces online that don't make it in my store. I wish the plus section was a little bit bigger than it is. I am however thankful that I even have a store that carries the plus line! That used to be a 3 hour road trip to Dallas just to go to the small corner of clothes in my size.

For instance, the sequin dress is in my store and I touch it every single time I walk past it. I love this dress. It's so me. Anyway, one of my secrets on bargain shopping is that when I find something I love that I don't want to pay full price for, I stalk it. This dress is almost $50. I don't want to pay $50 for this dress and I won't! Want to know why? I can wait... I will wait on this dress to go on sale in my Forever 21. There were still a ton of these dress on the rack for the past few weeks. I can only hope it will stay that way. I'm buying this dress when it goes on clearance! Don't believe me, just watch! *Trinidad James voice*

Something else I'm loving are all of these feminine sheer blouses. I die for mint green. It's just so refreshing! This shirt also has studs so you get a little edge to this classic look.

Tunics are a girl's best friend! Who doesn't love a tunic with leggings? You can dress it up with heels or dress it down with riding boots or ballet flats! Another classic style with the gorgeous soft blush color. It looks so polished!

This pleated skirt is EVERYTHING! I love the geometric print and the colors are to die for! I have a sheer sleeveless button up shirt that would be so fab with this and a high heel sandal! Guuuuurrrrrllllll!!! LOL

Did you not LOVE Lucy Liu's incredible Carolina Herrera gown at the Golden Globes 2013? This shirt reminds me of it! So fresh and fun! You can make this really girly or give it some edge depending on your accessories! Such a versatile piece!

I tried these pants on and died three times. The color is gorg and they seem to be made pretty well! The studs on the pockets put them over the top! WANT!!!
Another version on classic and feminine meets edge with this beautiful mint dress adorned with gold studs. Why isn't this in my store??? I. Need. This. Dress. Can you imagine this dress with nude high heal sandals that have gold accents on them? I sure can!

Lastly, this peplum dress is so cute and different! I like the colors, cut outs in the back and the shape is phenom!

Spring 2013 Fashion from Torrid

I know we're only halfway through January but, I just can't help but think about Spring and all the fun fashion! This morning I had a Torrid email in my inbox about new Spring items! I just had to share a few of them with you! Click on the images to take you to the items page on the Torrid website!

UGH!!! I Love the SHAPE of these dresses! They are universally flattering and as you can see, come in all different prints! My faves are the stripes and the leopard print. So cute! I love the idea of a casual dress in the Spring. It feels so carefree!

A few amazing pieces that I love are these jackets. You can never go wrong with a classic black and white striped print (left). The shape of the jacket really pulls in right under the bust at your smallest area. I'm definitely loving the whole military trend, The jacket (bottom left) would be so cute over the striped dress above! Right??? I'm also loving this tunic (right) I have some ox blood leggings and riding boots that would look so good with this piece!

I can't talk cute casual without a few Hello Kitty tees! I just adore these! What more can you say, really?  Have you been getting the Spring shopping bug? What are your fave pieces and trends?
