Operation Vacation Preparation

I'm going on vacation in 72 days. It seems like plenty of time, right? Wrong! I feel like I don't have enough time to do everything I want before I go! I feel like everything including myself needs to be perfect before I board my plane! Have you had those feelings before?

I'm thinking I should tan, I should lose weight, I need new clothes, new shoes, new hair.... The list goes on! Why all this for four days away?

I really hope I would have a good time regardless! I am going to visit my family in coastal Georgia and I'm so excited for the beach and warm weather! I sat down to make a list of things I would like to purchase over the next 72 days to take with me on my beach vacay and I thought I would share!

1.) Swimwear! I struggle with this decision still. I have a few suits, nothing fancy. I bought one from Asos.com on the left... I really want just one more option, maybe a little more covered up like the one on the right from F21+.

2.) Beach Gear! I really want some fabulous sparkly tote to take with me to the beach and a big fabulous hat to go with it! I just feel like those are necessary. Anyone else agree?

3.) I want to have an outfit with a resort feel, ya know, light and airy pastels and flowing fabric. I've found a few options to give you an idea...

Shoe Options

4.) Shoes! I mean is it really a surprise? I just love me some shoes and in an effort to keep myself from over-packing I've made myself a rule. I'm going to take one of each kind of shoe. Casual (and comfy) for sight seeing and activities. Heels (just one pair) in case we go somewhere nice for dinner. Sandals/Flip Flops for the beach and everyday wearing.

Am I covered? IDK! Let me know what you do to prepare for vacation in the comments below!

Where the Magic Happens

Have you seen Girls? Have you heard of Girls? Do you have HBO?

I've been obsessed with the show Girls since it's pilot episode aired on HBO last year. I love it. It's my Sex and the City replacement but smarter and younger with interesting fashion and life choices. It's like what The Carrie Diaries should be.

So one of the characters is a writer and she wants to write for a website. Her boss is telling her what they would like to see from her and refers to an illustration on the wall. I re-created this on my own. :)

It basically is telling you to get out of your comfort zone because that's where the magic happens! "The Magic" is something that a creative mind hungers for. Sometimes I find it and sometimes I don't.

I never wear my bangs out of pinned back, I never wear brown eye liner, but today I am. I hope you enjoy this different look! It makes me feel like I found a little bit of magic in my cosmetic bag. :) That's never a bad thing!

I used  light and medium brown eye shadows and a brown eye liner pencil to create this look.

I braided my bangs and pinned them back, hiding the bobby pins with

Who needs comfort zones anyway?

P.S. If you haven't seen girls, please get with the program!

Turn Your Rainy Day Blues to Rainy Day Pink!

Let's be honest, we all know rain is necessary to our survival and the entire ecosystem. The only problem is it makes my hair do stupid things. It makes my eyelids heavy and I don't feel like fixing up. It makes me want to dress sloppy  comfy and skip the heels.

Today I had the rainy day blues. I overcame my rainy day blues and now I'm rainy day PINK! Today I'm wearing a basic black dress, I usually pair it with heels and a fun belt. Today I added a pink belt to my dress and a fab animal print scarf with that same hot pink in it! I threw on some riding boots and did a light makeup application. It is very important that said application includes pink lipstick. Today I went for my "Strawberry Shortcake" Lip Butter from Revlon because it feels like... You guessed it... Buttah! I just threw my hair up in a bun and marched out the door with a smile!

We can't forget the outerwear, considering the rain! I have this camel colored trench and a zebra print umbrella for keeping dry!
